About the Journal
UDA Law Review is an academic, peer-reviewed, and indexed legal journal established as a student initiative at the School of Law of Universidad del Azuay. It has consolidated itself as a benchmark space for critical analysis of Law from diverse theoretical and practical perspectives, with a special focus on national and international legal challenges. Its fundamental purpose is to preserve and disseminate innovative legal knowledge and debate through high academic standards.
History
Founded in 2018, the journal is managed and led by undergraduate students from the Faculty of Legal Sciences at Universidad del Azuay. It emerged from the need to establish a specialized editorial space that promotes scientific research and critical thinking among students, faculty, and legal professionals.
Focus and Scope
The primary goal of the journal is to provide a platform for publishing legal research addressing contemporary legal issues through pluralistic and interdisciplinary approaches, contributing to the strengthening of the constitutional rule of law and justice.
Thematic Fields
UDA Law Review is a generalist legal publication that publishes original research articles. Its scope covers core areas of law, including Constitutional, Civil, Criminal, Administrative, International, Human Rights, and Legal Theory, without restricting individual issues to a single thematic topic.
Publication and Publishing Institution
The journal is published digitally via Open Journal Systems (OJS), ensuring editorial transparency and traceability. The publishing institution responsible for the journal is Universidad del Azuay, through Casa Editora. Submissions are only processed through the official portal.
Bi-annual (May and November). Continuous submission workflow. Average processing time of 45 days for peer-review decisions.
Accepts submissions in Spanish and English. Title, abstract, and keywords are mandatory in both languages.
Editorial Guarantees and Policies
Peer Review: Double-blind peer review by external reviewers, ensuring confidentiality and technical impartiality.
Authorship Policy: Maximum of three authors per manuscript. Substantial contribution supported by CRediT Taxonomy is required.
